If you are…
*a rangatahi (youth - roughly speaking anyone up to the age of 30)
*based in Aotearoa
We would really love to have you join our kaupapa! At the core of us, we provide a safe space to openly and safely share kōrero, frustrations, indigenous whakaaro. We feel we should make clear that Te Ara Whatu is NOT a space for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and other ideologies that might be harmful to the intersecting identities of indigenous youth. We believe that such ideologies are fundamentally colonial in nature and as such, we reject them. Rangatahi mā, this is a safe space for you!
You don’t have to be a hardcore activist, you don’t have to be a lawyer, you don’t have to have a degree, you don’t have to be a public speaker, you don’t have to live a perfect plastic-free lifestyle. As indigenous people we know that we have been kaitiaki of the land for thousands of years. We believe all indigenous youth are experts on climate change. If you are unsure how you can help, get in touch and lets have a kōrero.
Kia ora e hoa! Fill out the form below if you have any questions. If you want to stay up to date, we also recommend following us on our socials to see the different kaupapa we’ll be involved with too!
